2025 Playing Room Etiquette
Please follow these playing room checker etiquette rules:
No smoking, loud talking, laughing, noise, distractions, like drumming fingers etc. (even if only a few games left in the round).
No phones in playing room (must be silenced or cut off).
Use your clock time wisely. Time management is part of competitive checkers. If you see an overtime game developing (you are short on time) get assistance from Referee. Referee will award a draw if you are a man up or the advantaged game, but unable to convert game to a win, you should agree on a draw or get referee to award it before you run out of time.
Set your clocks according to the tournament allocated time, call a Referee if you need help.
Get opponent’s permission to adjust pieces, a touched piece must be played.
No spectator talking over a game or about it when opponents are playing a tournament game/round.
If a player is late, you should get Referee to start opponents' clock.
